L’étudiante en gestion d’entreprises, Leila Lopes (24 ans), née à  Benguela, a été élue samedi soir, à Luanda, Miss Angola 2011, et représentera le pays au concours Miss Univers 2011.

Leila Lopes, qui étudie au Royaume-Uni, a été distinguée parmi 20 candidates qui visaient à substituer Jurema Ferraz, Miss Angola 2010.  

Leila Lopes a reçu une voiture, un bijou, des vêtements, 2500 dollars et d’autres cadeaux.  

Le corps du jury a indiqué Edmilza dos Santos, de la province de Malanje, comme première dauphine, et Elizandra Lopes, de Huambo, comme deuxième dauphine. http://www.tpa.ao/

Country's beauty marks election gala of Miss Angola 2011

The natural, cultural and architectural beauties of the country were in the limelight on Saturday in Luanda at the gala for election of Miss Angola 2011 that chose the business management student Leila Lopes.

To show the country and the world the beauty that makes Angola a beautiful country to live and visit as tourist, the organization of Miss Angola projected images on three different occasions about the cultural, natural and architectural beauties.

In the three videos of about three minutes each the Committee Miss Angola screened   the images of Kalandula Falls, buildings, historical sites among others.

The jury, consisting of singer Perola, Armando Machado (former chairman of Angolan Football Federation), Riquita Bauleth (Former Miss Angola and fashion consultant), Nelsa Alves (Former miss Angola), Aline Prado (Brazilian Model), Isabel Filardis (Brazilian model
and actress) yet chose Edmilza dos Santos from the province of Malanje as first lady and Elizandra Lopes from Huambo the second lady.

The gala had the participation of 21 candidates and was enliven by the musicians Yola Araujo, Walter and Nicol Ananas, Emilio Santiago, Celso Mambo and the group Black Fofas.
